Launching Facebook App For Fun!!! Woohoo!

A friend and I decided to work on a Facebook app for fun. (Side note: This has nothing to do with my long term company plans)

You can try it out here.

The app allows you to send and receive different types of karma (good karma, lucky karma, love karma, etc.). The more karma you send your friends - the more karma they send you, thus helping you to avoid reincarnation as a lizard, (or, heaven forbid, a Friendster user.)

Our basic premise was:
a) Make something simple and fast
b) Try to make it as viral as possible
c) Have fun playing around with this stuff

It was fun to work on something that you can put together this quickly (~1 week of part time work including setting up new accounts, finding an artist and having the art made, etc.).

Look forward to people's suggestion on how to make it better :-)

You can try it out here.

Back from China - Starting Company

Last week I returned from 2.5 months in China (including Tibet) and Thailand. In China, I was based in Beijing and studied Mandarin which was ridiculously hard (who knew?). It was great to spend some time recharging and I have come back feeling more energized then I have in years.

I am ready to get started on the next big thing and am feeling ridiculously motivated. I will be starting a consumer focused Internet company.

As details emerge on this I will post them here. Right now it is too early to reveal much, especially if I end up changing direction :-) (I have only been back about a week, after all)

Anyhow, please feel free to ping me now that I am back, it would be great to catch up!!

Welcome to my blog

I will be using this blog as way to keep people up to date on where I am and what I am up to.

I will largely write short updates on major changes (moving to Beijing in September, coming back to the Bay Area to start a company etc.) rather then the minutiae of my day to day existence, so feel free to drop this in your blog reader. I promise my posts will be painless! :-)
